BLOGGING‌ ‌TRENDS‌ ‌FOR‌ ‌2021‌ ‌

When we first began blogging, we had no idea that this marketing technique would become so popular. Dr. Rissy’s Writing and Marketing blog started as a way to share what we were thinking – and most importantly – to share our knowledge with people interested in the same topics that we are: copywriting, marketing, SEO, PR, and more.

Then, we realized that blogging could bring many benefits for us as a business. According to FSG, (First Site Guide) during 2020 there were 31.7 million bloggers in the United States only, and that translates to much more readers across the country and world.

Whether you have a business blog or a personal website, it is always important to keep up with the latest trends in order for your blog to be engaging.

Keep in mind that there are no “rights” or “wrongs” when it comes to blogging. You can use your blog for personal purposes or to share what’s on your mind. You can even write a blog about sharing recipes for the holidays – in other words, you can write about anything that is important to you. Or, you can use it for business purposes, such as sharing tips about your products or services. This will invariably increase your visibility as a brand.

But the main purpose of a blog will always be to connect with your targeted audience, and there are various ways to do that. For starters, you can boost your traffic and send quality leads to your site, as well as update your blog on a weekly basis and make sure to rank it on Google. These are all very important steps – but what can you do to keep your audience interested?

Well, today we are going to give you a few blogging trends to keep in mind for the upcoming year. After all, people like to read fresh and original content that will keep them coming back to your site.

First, keep an eye on the popular keywords for 2021. Search Engine Optimization plays a big part when it comes to blogging, so you should be writing content that matches the top-ranked keywords, and the topics should be relevant to your audience.

Using the right keywords allows you to rank higher in sites like Google. A tool that we love using to make sure that we are utilizing the highest-ranked keywords is Google Trends. The most popular keywords change from time to time depending on your field of work, so we always recommend checking the site every once in a while to see what people are talking about, and what type of content they are consuming.

We have discussed trends with Rich Perry and this is the advice that he offers: “There will always be a hot new trend to follow, and it’s easy to get distracted chasing those shiny objects. Focus on delivering value-based content with your audience and be consistent.” As he mentioned, it is easy to try and follow every single trend, but that will end up in your content being all over the place. Focus on the topics that work for you and that adapt best for your blog!

You should also start sharing your blog on other social media sites. Link sharing has become quite popular over the last year, and promoting yourself on multiple platforms instead of just one will give you the visibility that you are looking for.

Multi-Platform promotion is the perfect technique if you are looking to achieve a maximum reach. You can also add the share button on your blog, which allows you and others to share your content more easily across platforms.

Finally, you should optimize your blog to work on every device. Nowadays, there are a thousand different types of brands and devices out there, and your blog should be working on every single one of them. A good blog doesn’t discriminate – it is friendly to every device. If you haven’t done it yet, go to your phone, tablet, and laptop, open your blog there, and make sure that it works correctly on each one.
