SOME WAYS TO SELF-PROMOTE AS AN ENTREPRENEUR

Promoting yourself as an entrepreneur is vital if you want to start creating your personal branding and be known by it. The trouble is – where should you start?

Content marketing has worked wonders for me in the past. Therefore, my first recommendation is to start a blog! With a WordPress account, you could write freely about things you feel passionate about. For example, I love writing about marketing, social media, copywriting, and more from an entrepreneurial perspective. Each topic is related to the services my company offers – which help my readers understand more about what I can achieve and how can I help them reach their goals.

I can write about more personal things in my blog, as well! If I am planning for an upcoming event I am excited about, I can let them in on all the details (hopefully, I will meet some of my readers there!). After the event, I can post a small briefing on the event, letting everybody know what happened – in case they could not make it personally. Even if I’m writing something about something unrelated to my field, the content I create allows me to connect with my audience on a more personal level.

Social media accounts are other self-promotional tools, used in tandem with your blog. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Linkedin are great ways to get your audience outreach online off the ground. However, you should be aware that each of these platforms serves a specific end goal. Twitter and Instagram are for more personal use; users on these platforms tend to make posts about everyday things, but you can also promote your entrepreneurial talents in casual ways.

On the other hand, Facebook and Linkedin are much better places to post content specifically tailored towards your business. Facebook gives you the option to create a business page informing others about your products and services. Linkedin allows you to network with other professionals, who may become affiliated for your business on a more official level.

Other social media sites like Quora allow you to answer questions given to you directly by your followers. Attending events at your local chamber of commerce also promotes your business, especially if you want to make a lasting impression in your community! Whatever you choose to do while self-promoting as an entrepreneur, always make an effort to be in the right place at the right time!
